A Winter Olympic sport in which participants compete in a high-speed downhill race on a sled along a special track. The winner is the athlete who completes the race in the fastest time. The athlete must finish with the sled, otherwise they are disqualified. The athlete's total time is calculated from several runs. Competitions are held for individuals and pairs. At major tournaments, relay races are held, in which a team consists of a woman, a man, and a pair.
